    Love activism I realise I am an activist of love. Love activism I realise I am an activist of love. I grew up with a mum who was always, and still is, involved in different political activism’s like Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, supporting the NHS, the Labour Party. It meant that as a child I was working at jumble sales to support Amnesty, helping to deliver leaflets or going on marches. She invited family members, refugees, girls who were lost and pregnant and people with problems to live with us. It was a big house with many people living in it. But there was always a lot of dancing, cups of tea and chatting. I grew up in Battersea with people popping in and out of each others houses and I danced every day with my neighbour Esther or created dances with my sisters. Community was such a big key to how everything worked. As a teen I was interested in philosophy and politics and going on marches and meetings and in my twenties got into Green politics and creativity. Now I am teaching flirting as activism and helping people to unburden and reach out to others. I have a workshop on Sat 5th Oct at Fine Feather Wellness in Hove 2-6pm £45 (or speak to me if you can’t afford it). Xx

    Great Communication! Workshop with me 7th Septemb Great Communication! Workshop with me 7th September London What makes communication great and how can we enable it? How can we attune to ourselves and see if someone else is available to have that kind of connection? These are questions I am regularly curious to learn about. Many of us were not listened to in ways we might have wished for. And indeed it can be hard to open one’s heart to this kind of receiving even if it turned up. It can feel scary and risky to want and to trust loving behaviours. We might ask “If I let you in will you let me down?” Rupture in relationships is a guarantee as we can regularly misunderstand, be misunderstood, judge and make assumptions about what the other meant. This may mean we pull away from certain people or fawn over them in order to keep distance and not let them in. We can also over-share, expect too much or try to push for more connection than the other person is able to give. All these ways may mean that we are not going to come near someone. It can be so complex that it can wear people out and they may pull back from trying. Regular repair is what can keep relationships working. The Gottmans claim those that repair quickly and respond to bids for connection are the ones who are able to sustain growing connections. But how can you learn how to do this If you don’t feel safe to to be vulnerable and open. Well it can be supportive to do this on a workshop and be in a held space. And if you felt safe enough you could learn a technique where one person deeply listens to another and both can begin feel a heart-centred, golden connection? There are, of course, many listening methods and this is just one and this is one I particularly love. This is a method called Bridging which is about creating a container to hold both people in empathy and love so that they can use the questions to warmly go deeper into one persons world. Many times in communication we may both be sharing our words and this might not give a chance to go deeper into what one person is really sharing. Or we may get triggered and feel defensive or wish to push the other away. Link in Bio
    You might be wondering how I managed to have such You might be wondering how I managed to have such a fabulous trip to the Edinburgh Fringe, to meet so many stand-ups and have my photo taken everywhere! Well this is all down to Paul Wogan who booked, curated, photographed and supported me to have a fab holiday. Some of the comics we actually knew like Tom Ward, Freya Mallard, and Harriet Kemsley. We had met Trevor Lock a few years ago at a celebration for Tom Ward. Some we have seen many times before like Mark Thomas and Michelle Shaughnessy and they made it easy to chat to them. Louis Katz is the tour support for Dave Attell who we are massive fans of, so we were able to make a nice bond with him, speaking of this. Paul knew Jin Hao Li through booking him for a comedy night. And I am an all round cheeky person who is happy to go up, say “hi” and ask if it’s ok to have a photo. It’s been the funniest week ever and because I shared this with you I ended being in a comedy speed dating show for two nights. Many thanks to Ava Regal for setting that up for me! So much joy.
