If you are in a committed relationship then someti If you are in a committed relationship then sometimes the buzz can seem to die down and you might worry that the love is over.

The quality of your connections is equal to the balance of your nervous system. If you are stressed out and worried then your frustration and fear may well affect how you are as a couple.

Often when we first meet there is an abundance of hope and love. As we move through different stages of committing, there can be big power struggles and dramatic cycles of maybe pursuing or withdrawing. There can be burn out as people give up bidding for love and there might be a stalemate where you wonder if there is any life left in the connection.

It’s important to remember that it’s not the other person that is the enemy — it’s the cycle of triggers, the inner parts that get activated, how they interact and the meaning given to them that causes the problems.

When one person seems grumpy, the other might make it mean that they are rejected. Or if one person needs space, the other might feel abandoned.

We bring all our life experiences into our deep connections. It can be really helpful to have some relaxed time together to help you understand each other better.

The gift of this kind of relationship is that it can bring up deep parts of you that may need attending to. So if you had parents who were unavailable it may be that you are drawn to a partner who is often busy and you might tell yourself that they don’t care. If you can begin to take care of those inner parts of you then you might be able to come to your partnership with a more calm and balanced self and woo them back into relating well.

With a little bit of attention and love, like watering a flower, you can nurture your special connection.

The biggest need in a human is to belong and so ex The biggest need in a human is to belong and so expressing anything that might affect that belonging can be terrifying.

We can all carry huge degrees of FOG (fear, obligation, guilt). But when we always put others' needs before our own this often ends up in resentment and can lead to the breakdown of relationships.

Many couples find that they may not express their honest feelings for fear of rocking the boat. Can you relate?

Being honest is so important in a relationship. Find time so that each of you can express your needs and wants, and listen to each other.

People who have boundaries and who can say “no” in a kind way, are a gift to others because we can trust that they speak their truth.

Simplifying life, one day at a time 🌊✨ I fin Simplifying life, one day at a time 🌊✨

I find great joy in simple daily routines. Every day I get up early, which isn’t for everyone, but it works wonders for me. I meditate, write in my journal, have a swim in the sea and a cup of tea, before going on with my day.

Each day I do a little bit of admin, a little bit of decluttering and a little bit of work. I don’t overcomplicate my life by overbooking things. I don’t put too many things in the diary.

As someone who was always fitting a million things into every day, this connection with simplicity has been profound 🙏

No overcomplicated schedules or crowded calendars - just pure, unhurried living 🩷
