I am just back from The Mind Body Spirit Festival in Olympia. Here’s link to an “Open your heart” meditation with no music from me. And here is one with lovely music and video. It was so lovely to create a ceremony space for people to really relax into their beings and into their hearts. One person said they thought that they should do this before doing things in life and I agreed. What a wonderful world that would be!
My friend Rose encouraged me and Cathy to go on The Carousel on Brighton beach riding the Victorian sparkling horses and it literally was so much fun. £3 for total joy and bliss! Sometimes I can get quite focussed on “life” stuff and a carousel ride with friends was just the tonic!

I wanted to also share the lovely modality Deep Brain Reorienting from Frank Corrigan that I work with. This is a way of releasing shock and affect that may have got stuck in the body. If you ever feel that you are experiencing similar things over and over and feeling confused why you might be having this. It could well be that you have shock and feelings that have not been processed. This might not allow you to feel your innate grounded feelings where you can recognise that something does or does not feel right for you. I have found it an amazing way to support people to shift old thoughts and to be able to calm their nervous system and have a more grounded way of being in their body. This then helps with receiving the life that feels right for them.

Above is an image of how Deep Brain Reorienting works. When you were a baby you had innate needs that may not have been met. When this happened there would be a shock in the deep brain creating an orienting response and producing affects such as fear, pain/grief/, rage and shame at the loss of needs being met. This then would create negatively-valenced seeking. This means that you may have developed ways of responding to look after yourself and get your needs met. For example you might fight, fawn, freeze, attach, please/appease, submit or act in ways that is not who you truly are but is your way of connecting (like a part or a reactive response). I guide you to slow down and be in your body and space and I use an activating stimulus you have chosen, like an action or word or process that has activated you. This help open a file for shock in the deep brain body. I guide you to keep it really slow and it allows the shock to process and move through and then the affect or feelings and then potentially opens a new pathway of thoughts and being. Sometimes you are not aware of what is making us hold on to old ways of being and gripping on. Through this work it seems like you are able to be with yourself with compassion and therefore allowing, being compassionate with and also developing greater awareness of you.
