🎬✨ What a strange journey indeed… I’m so 🎬✨ What a strange journey indeed…

I’m so thrilled (and a little emotional) to share that I have a tiny part in the new documentary “Strange Journey”, which is out now in cinemas! It’s a beautiful and moving film about Richard O’Brien and The Rocky Horror Show, directed by his son Linus O’Brien.

Years ago, I had the privilege of interviewing Richard. He spoke openly about his struggles with depression, his experiences of being bisexual at a time when it was illegal to be gay, and his journey to finding peace within himself.

He shared how love from his son Linus and witnessing the kindness of people who gave up their holidays to perform surgeries in Africa helped him rediscover faith in humanity. Those moments brought him back to the simple truth that kindness is what truly matters. 💛

The team recently found my interview by accident and decided to include it in the film. Such a full circle moment!

And in the most heartwarming twist of all, after saying he didn’t believe he could love again, Richard went on to fall in love, marry, and now lives blissfully by a lake in New Zealand with his partner. 💕

📸
1️⃣ Me and my sister Georgia with director Linus O’Brien (Richard’s son)
2️⃣ Me with Chrissie Shrimpton and her daughter, Chrissie was featured in the film
3️⃣ Me with Richard Hartley (music arranger) and Sue Blane (costume designer)

Such a special experience and a reminder that even the smallest moments of kindness and connection can ripple far beyond what we imagine. 🌍

📬 Little Stitches of Kindness and Love in Rotti 📬 Little Stitches of Kindness and Love in Rottingdean 🧶✨

Have you spotted the beautiful knitted and crocheted creations appearing on postboxes around our village?
They are made by people in our community who quietly give their time and creativity to bring a smile to anyone passing by.

These small, colourful cosies are more than just decoration. They are gentle acts of kindness and love, brightening our streets and reminding us that joy can come from the simplest gestures.

For me, noticing these tiny bursts of colour is part of what makes life feel rich and meaningful. When we slow down enough to appreciate small, beautiful moments, we begin to weave a life we truly want to live, one filled with kindness, creativity and delight in the everyday.

With love,
Cate

When I paint, I am not just making art. I am nouri When I paint, I am not just making art. I am nourishing myself.
Each brushstroke is a way of listening, of honouring what is alive inside me. I move with the music, I let colour speak, I feel my body soften and my heart expand. Something beautiful happens when we give space to what lights us up. It feels like coming home to ourselves.

In my work with couples and individuals, I often see how easily this can be forgotten. Life becomes about doing and coping. Yet when we choose to engage in what brings us joy, we rebuild confidence, we remember our worth, and we even begin to flirt with the parts of ourselves we most cherish. We become magnetic again, not only to others but to our own hearts.

This is what it means to lead a life filled with everyday pleasure. It is not only about sexuality. It is about noticing and relishing beauty in the world, savouring the warmth of connection, delighting in colour, movement, music, and the small joys that make life feel alive. It is a life that moves away from constant struggle and leans into nourishment and presence.

Painting does that for me. For you, it might be singing, writing, dancing, cooking, planting something and watching it grow. It is less about the activity itself and more about the way it calls you back to your aliveness.

I would love to know, what do you do that feeds your light?

And if my heart paintings speak to you, some are available to bring into your home. Each one is created in this spirit of love, presence and renewal. You can see them through the link in my bio or reach out if one is calling you.
